Are you putting unrealistic expectations on your patient?  Your patient should never feel like they're "running out of time!"

In this episode, we dive into a case report from a patient who contacted us after being treated for vaginismus at another facility.  There's a lot to unpack in her letter, but it's a really interesting - and sometimes heartbreaking - patient perspective. 

Being able to prognosticate or forecast for your patient is such an important skill!  We devote basically an entire module of the Pelvic PT Essentials course to this ability. 

If you give a patient unrealistic expectations - either because of your own mistake, because your basing the number of visits on insurance reimbursement, or any other reason - you can create the feelings of "guilt and shame" this patient experienced.

The opposite of this is creating a partnership, and we love the way this patient explains what she was - and wasn't - looking for with her pelvic PT.
