Weight Maintenance During Intuitive Eating (Part 2) [feat. Lily Tanner]

In light of the upcoming five-day find your set point weight challenge that I will be hosting from June 6, 2021 to June 10, 2021 (which is totally free of charge!), I have been discussing set point weight on the podcast and am bringing to you a series of three chats with different members of The SociEATy who have experienced the three usual things that happen when we journey toward finding our set point weight – losing weight, maintaining weight, and gaining weight. In the last episode, Megan Olson shared her story of gaining weight with us, and Lily Tanner is now here to discuss how she maintained her weight.

I have known Lily for two years, and she is at around the same weight as she was when she started her food freedom journey. She addresses her initial disappointment and frustration that intuitive eating didn't lead to a lot of weight loss but how she eventually found happiness and confidence in herself regardless, and she also discusses some of the mistakes that she made during her journey.

Lily and I discuss how important it is to remember that this journey is scary but that there is support and a sense of community there for you. This journey is a leap of faith, and it is not linear! We also talk about weight distribution and how your body's appearance might change even if your weight stays exactly the same because your body will distribute your weight to different locations as you get older.

In closing, Lily is kind enough to share a few actionable tips for anyone who is interested in finding their set point weight. She encourages us to allow our bodies to do their thing. She also enthusiastically shares how much she loves mantras and affirmations and shares a couple of her own mantras that have worked for her.
