Why are narcissists so mad when you stop being predictable? Narcissists are predictable - we know this. But what happens when you shift your strategy for dealing with them? When you are aware of the narcissist predictable behavior and you understand narcissistic personality disorder, you can make big strides in your own narcissistic relationship recovery. To date, you may have been compliant, charming, and fair-minded. You tried to win the narcissist's approval by attempting different strategies: drive them crazy, trust them explicitly, never argue and always let them have their way, and so on. These tactics didn't work.

So, you decide to switch things up. What happens when, instead of hoping against hope that the narcissist will stop, or that--like the counselors, therapists, and books told you--the narcissist is just insecure, you flip it on them? What happens when you turn the tables?
