In this episode, we’re talking about something so many midlife women are missing, even if they don’t realize it yet: play.
Somewhere between raising families, building careers, and carrying responsibility, many of us stop doing things just because they are fun. Movement becomes about burning calories. Life becomes about productivity. And joy slowly slips to the bottom of the list.
But research shows that staying active and socially connected as we age supports our mental health, physical health, brain function, and overall happiness. In other words, play is not frivolous. It is part of how we stay vibrant.
In this episode, I’m sharing how trying new things in midlife, including activities like pickleball and golf, has brought laughter, friendship, and confidence into my own life, and why being willing to be a beginner again can be one of the healthiest things we do.
We’ll talk about:
Why women stop “playing” as adults
The courage it takes to try something new in midlife
How fun and friendship support emotional and brain health
Why strength training supports the things you love to do
How to stay competitive without putting pressure on yourself
And why joy belongs in your wellness routine
If you’ve been feeling a little stuck, tired, or disconnected, this episode is your reminder that you don’t need a whole new life. Sometimes, you just need more play.
