So I wanted to bring you up to speed from the last couple weeks and share some lessons learned along the way. Oh also some pretty big news!

Today’s guest on the show is my friend, Sarah Elrod. Sarah has always been an entrepreneur, but just recently (about six months ago!) joined the Mom Club. Today we’re going to chat all about the transition to motherhood as a business owner and the ways she’s had to adapt and grow in this new beautiful season of life.
Sarah Elrod is a branding photographer, educator and host of the Branded Cowgirl Podcast and is passionate about helping rural women build businesses that compliment their small town lifestyle, not take away from it.

Do you have big dreams on your heart but find yourself saying “what if I fail” or “is this even possible” or “who am I to do this”? Today I want to dive into something that is such a common and frequent struggle amongst so many women in my life. Self doubt looks different for each of us, but there’s likely this nagging feeling of “who am I” to…*insert your own dream*. In today’s episode, I want to give you seven things you can do to overcome self doubt so that you can change the narrative from “who am I” to “why not me” and move closer to reaching your dreams.
The 7 things you can do to overcome self doubt are:
Identify the source and root cause of your self doubt
Set achievable goals to build confidence and trust in yourself
Celebrate your wins
Practice self-compassion
Surround yourself with positive people
Practice self care
Seek professional help

Today I have the joy of talking with Katelyn Duban. Katelyn shares her story of going from typing in the Google search bar “what do farm wives do” to now working full time on the farm and being the creator and host of the amazing show, The Rural Woman Podcast. Katelyn and I share our passion for supporting rural women to do things outside the norm and having the audacity to try something different.
Katelyn Duban is a first-generation farmer, storyteller, and community builder. She has had the privilege of celebrating the stories of Women in Agriculture through her podcast, The Rural Woman Podcast, since 2019. With over half a million downloads, Duban has been able to reach and amplify the voices of rural women to a worldwide audience.
In this episode, we cover:
Her mental health story and how The Rural Woman Podcast came to be
How your definition of success can change and evolve over time and how it’s different for everyone/every family
Supporting diversity in agriculture and beyond
The gift of growth through failure
The importance of trying things differently rather than trying harder
Questions to ask when you’re overwhelmed by self doubt

On today’s episode, I am joined by my new friend Dawn Marie! I actually had the joy of recording for her podcast last week and our conversation led me to understanding so many things about my own body that I just had to share with you! I know that so many women are on the journey to better understanding themselves through the inside out and truly supporting their holistic health along the way. In this episode, Dawn brings information about how to take care of our unique bodies that I wish someone would have told me 10-15 years ago!
Dawn Marie, a Lifestyle Mentor and the podcast host of Beyond The Plate, is helping women find themselves, ignite their natural energy, and truly live in food freedom. She is a developer of others by nature with a generator energy type. Dawn is a certified integrative nutrition coach and she loves supporting women to step into the life of their dreams naturally.

Today we’re digging into some things to keep in mind, and mindset shifts to make, as you pursue big goals in a small town. I recently asked my instagram audience about their biggest struggles as a small town dreamer and unsurprisingly, soooo many women shared nearly identical pain points. Whether you’re expanding the farm, building a business, starting to share online, beginning a health journey, jump starting a fundraiser - whatever it is - the struggles were similar all across the board. Between the weight of expectations, opinions of other people, fear of judgment, and not having support from family and friends, these things are felt collectively and can make a huge impact on the way we show up and pursue the dreams on our heart.
In today’s episode, I’m going to share a few things to consider, offer a different perspective, and some mindset shifts to hopefully encourage you to keep going and to also make sure you know you aren’t alone.

Today’s guest, Emily Shaw, and I have been social media friends for a few years so bringing her on the podcast today felt extra fun and special! Our conversation was sparked by an instagram post about 5 strategies to create better habits. As I scrolled through the post nodding along, I knew we had to create this episode to share with you! I hope you find this topic and conversation as valuable as I do!
Dairy Girl Fitness was created almost five years ago as Emily's way to show others that you don't need to cut dairy and other animal products out of your diet to be “healthy.” She wants to encourage women to make their health a priority, and show that it doesn't have to be extreme or confusing. Emily wants Dairy Girl Fitness to represent a strong, confident, and hardworking group of women.

As we approach the new year, I want to encourage you and remind you that nothing magically changes on January 1st. In today’s episode, I walk you through a process of reflection and action planning to approach 2023 with intentionality. The thing is… this is the same advice I’d give you whether it was April or September or anytime throughout the year. You’re the same person on the first day of January as you are on the last day of December. You don’t need a fresh new year to wake up and decide to make changes to your life. BUT, since this topic is fresh on everyone’s mind, I’ll share my two cents on setting intentions for the new year!
