Last week I turned 53, and I've found myself sitting with the lessons that took me decades and more than a few hard moments to truly understand. These aren't quick tips or things I read somewhere. They're the truths I learned by living them, the ones that eventually became the foundation for the work I do and everything I now teach women about their time and their capacity. This episode is a little different and a lot more personal than what I usually share. I'm opening up about five of these lessons, and I want you to know going in that none of them are about doing more or adding to your already full plate. Every single one is about giving yourself permission to finally put something down, and my hope is that you walk away feeling a little more seen and a little less alone in whatever season you're carrying right now. In This Episode, I'll Cover:The part of caregiving nobody warned me about, and the trip that made me realize it.The rest lesson I still catch myself getting wrong, even though I know better. What I finally did after years of saying "I'm drowning" and having nothing change. What I would say today to a woman who's just been told she's using her kids as an excuse.Resources Mentioned:A Better Share by Dr. Morgan Cutlip: bit.ly/4p9psDB________________________________ 💻 Free Training Overwhelmed? If you have ever decided you're just not a confident person, this episode is going to change how you think about that. My inner critic gets real noisy sometimes, and I'm guessing yours does too. I hear this from women constantly, that you either have confidence or you don't, and if you don't, that's just your lot. Dr. Cindra Kamphoff is here to tell us that is not how it works, and what I loved is that she didn't just tell me confidence is something I can build. She handed me the tools to do it. Cindra has a PhD in performance psychology, spent four years as the mental performance coach for the Minnesota Vikings, and runs the Mentally Strong Institute with a team of 15 coaches. Her whole message is that confidence is not something you're born with or without. It's a habit, which means it's something you get to keep growing. In This Episode, We Cover:Why confidence disappears right when you need it most. How to stop replaying a mistake for three days straight. The three questions that shut down the voice saying you're not good enough. What the research says about why women hold back more than men.The two-minute habit that quietly rebuilds your belief in yourself.Mentioned in the Episode: Get Cindra's new book, The Confidence Habit: www.confidencetools.com Connect With Dr. Cindra Kamphoff:www.cindrakamphoff.comwww.instagram.com/cindrakamphoffwww.linkedin.com/in/cindrakamphoffwww.facebook.com/drcindrakamphoff ________________________________ 💻 Free Training Overwhelmed? Think back to January. You set some goals for the year. Now be honest, have you made any real progress on them? If that question stings a little, you're not alone, and it's not because you picked the wrong goal or lost your motivation. It's because most of us were never taught the planning structure that actually holds a goal together past March. In this episode, I'm breaking down the four levels of planning that work together to carry your goals through the entire year, starting from the ground up instead of the usual top-down approach. In This Episode, I'll Cover:The most detailed level of planning we do, and why it's actually the one that gives you the fastest wins. The level that quietly prevents you from waking up next month just as overbooked as you were this month. Why one specific planning rhythm is what keeps you connected to your longer-term goals and tells you when it's time to pivot. The biggest mistake I see people make when they try to run all four levels off their Google Calendar alone.Where most people's goal setting completely falls apart, and it has nothing to do with the goal itself.Mentioned in this episode: Plan-a-Palooza - https://www.megansumrell.com/plan ________________________________ 💻 Free Training Overwhelmed? Most people think the goal is to turn all their routines into habits. That belief is quietly wrecking a lot of good routines. I've been hearing this come up over and over in my community, and I finally had to address it head-on. So many women are beating themselves up over something that isn't even a real measure of success. In this episode, I'm clearing up the confusion between routines and habits once and for all, and sharing why the answer might completely change how you feel about the routines you already have. What You'll Learn:Why the most common definition of "success" with routines is completely wrongThe one thing a routine actually needs to be The real reason copying someone else's routine almost always backfiresTwo traps that are probably keeping your routines from sticking________________________________ 💻 Free Training Overwhelmed? I know we've talked about boundaries on this show before. But this conversation? It went somewhere I really wasn't expecting. My guest today is Alex Lianne Carter, a master certified neurocoach, educator, and children's author who burned out, rebuilt her life one small decision at a time, and eventually packed up her family and moved to Panama. When Alex reached out to me about coming on to talk about boundaries, I sat with it for a minute because the angle she brought was one I hadn't heard before, and I think you're going to feel it too. Because this episode is really about three things that are all connected: the busyness we can't shake, the boundaries we can't hold, and what our kids are quietly picking up from watching us do both. Alex walks us through the brain science behind why slowing down genuinely feels wrong, where these patterns actually come from, and what we can do about it before we hand the whole cycle to our kids. What You'll Learn:Why you can't hold a boundary no matter how many times you set it What your kids are absorbing right now just by watching how you move through your dayThe real reason slowing down feels dangerous to your nervous system even when you desperately want itThe very first step out of autopilot when you're so deep in it you don't even realize it's runningConnect With Alex:Free to Be Me (children's book): www.freetobemekid.comInstagram: www.instagram.com/alex.lianne.carterLinkedIn: ca.linkedin.com/in/alexliannecarter ________________________________ 💻 Free Training Overwhelmed?
