In this episode I talk about how social Yoga retreats are; students arrive on their own and as well as stretching and relaxing, they form lasting friendships. So the benefits of a Yoga retreat can be felt long after the event! I also talk about how I use social media to improve connection and collaboration. I serve the world best when I use technology to communicate and share, and that's what I think about when I post on Instagram and Facebook, I use the story of Indra's Net of Jewels to make my point that we're in an infinate reflection process. I make these meditations short and simple to fit into the demands of modern life. Most of us don't have 30 minutes to meditate, but you certainly have 6 minutes. So lets go! DoYourOMThing.co.uk
In this episode I chat to Camille, the owner of the Float Spa, an award-winning health and wellbeing centre in Hove. We talk about what it's like to float and... why Camille got into floating. -Spoiler alert; it's at our toughest moments that can lead to transformation. 'It's always darkest before the dawn' as they say. As well as Floats, the Float Spa has a wonderful Yoga timetable. I know, I used to practice there as a student and now I'm so proud to have been teaching there for over a year! thefloatspa.co.uk/
Yoga and Meditation practices are all about learning to release habitual patterns of tension. In this sweet little meditation you'll be lying down as I guide you through a tension release meditation exercise. Enjoy! DoYourOMThing.co.uk
Facing your fears! I feel it each time I hit record, but what motivates me is the opportunity to share my experiences and teach! In this episode I talk about how fear makes our lives smaller, if I listened to it, I'd never have recorded these podcasts, and I wouldn't be connecting with all of these amazing listeners! My life would be smaller. I talk about habitual patterns of tension, how to start tracking them and I also suggest that we identify too strongly with fear… So I feel something before I record these episodes, but if something happened and I couldn't record them anymore… I'd actually feel pretty disappointed… So perhaps the thing I feel is in fact a kind of excitement. _________________________________________________________________________ I mention domestic abuse in this episode, if that's something you've experienced or would like support with, please call the National Domestic Violence Helpline 0808 2000 247 24.

A 'pranayama' breathing practice. Have a tissue to hand, you might need to blow your nose! Alternative nostril breathing is said to help balance the two hemispheres of the brain. Having a blocked up nose is like putting a kink in a hose, things can't circulate! DoYourOMThing.co.uk @DoYourOMThing on Instagram
More confidence? Yes please! Increasingly, I teach somatic awareness, which is the ability to sense yourself cultivates confidence. We've been conditioned to ignore the sensations in the body; You need the toilet in a meeting, but don't want to interrupt and go to the loo, so you bypass those messages from your body… You go on to ignore the ache in your back, the desire to move so you come home from work and flop on the sofa, as you check out everyone else's social media feed about how happy and active they are! So do you always follow teachers? Or do you interpret instructions and advice, and then translate what you've learned into your body? Through Yoga and Meditation you're not learning to control yourself, you're discovering what disrupts your ability to self organise. Self organise in Yoga of course, but also in your life off your mat! Feel your confidence grow!
JJ joined me this week! He’s a Pilates teacher (yes yoga and Pilates teachers can be friends) JJ got into Pilates to help his bad back, and when he moved to Brighton decided to train as a teacher, and now he’s about to embark on a Yoga Teacher Training. Don’t get too caught up with the name of the movement method, a good practitioner will study different methods and pull them all together! We exchange wit and wisdom, talk about the importance of looking after your feet, how to encourage men to reap the benefits of Yoga and Pilates and… JJ’s passion of movement and photography and his September retreat which will combine all of that! 1:1, Workshops and Retreat details on: BalancedRootsPilates.com Instagram: MovementAndPhotography
