Juventus player Cristiano Ronaldo has played his 600th league game and also broken a scoring record. Ronaldo is now the first player to have scored at least 20 goals a season for 12 consecutive seasons in one of Europe's top five leagues.
The 36-year-old Portuguese soccer player scored the record-breaking goal in a 3–0 win over Spezia in the Italian League, Serie A.
 
Born in 1985 on the Portuguese island of Madeira, Ronaldo's full name is Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro. He was named after one of his father's favorite actors — and ex-US president — Ronald Reagan.
 
Ronaldo started playing soccer as a child and in 2003 — when he was 18 — Premier League club Manchester United paid nearly $20 million to sign him. At the time, this was a record signing fee for a player of his age; and Ronaldo has since broken many more records during his career.
 
Ronaldo has now scored over 760 goals. Of those, 102 were for Portugal's national team, which is more than double the goals of any other player for that team.
