Comedy series The Office was the most streamed show in the US in 2020 according to a report by Nielsen.
The company recently released lists of the top 10 most popular movies, original series and acquired series — shows that a streaming service has bought from another company — on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ and Hulu. The report looked at the total number of minutes shows were watched on TVs, but not other devices.
 
A hit on traditional TV from 2005 to 2013, The Office was watched on Netflix for over 57 billion minutes in 2020, making it not only the most watched acquired show, but also the most watched show overall.

However, at the start of 2021, The Office moved from US Netflix to Peacock, a new streaming service owned by NBCUniversal.
 
Netflix's crime show Ozark was the most streamed original series, being watched for over 30 billion minutes. Lucifer took the second spot, with The Crown in third — both also made by Netflix.
