You don’t need to put your kids in a class

Listen Later

Do your kids love to dance, or play sports, or be artistic at home? Do you keep insisting that they need to take a class?  We all want what is “best” for our kids, and that often means getting them into the “best” class with the “best” teacher at the “best” facility  The intention is based in love, but what if your kid doesn’t want to take a class? Maybe he/she just wants to enjoy the creative process without being told what to do.

We can always offer a class or opportunity for growth, but our kids know when they are ready to know more, and sometimes they don’t need as much guidance as we think they do. A few examples are Ballerina Mindy Copeland who didn’t start dancing until she was 13, and Saturday Night Live comedians Fred Armisen and Kristen Wiig who didn’t start their life in comedy until their early 20’s

We also answer two questions from our listeners – one who’s husband is displeased with his work and allows his feelings to affect the family, and the other is a mom who feels that time-outs are helping her son – she questions herself after listening to last week’s podcast on time-outs.

We invite you to attend a live webinar with us titled How is your Child Sleeping? The discussion revolves around assessing your child’s sleep behavior and the effects on overall development.  Register by clicking here.  $15.00 to register
