Who knew that there are so many parallels between training horses and leadership in business and life?
In today’s episode, I am joined by Joe Misner, a world-renowned wild horse trainer, for an incredibly powerful conversation. When I think of the entrepreneurial spirit, and leadership, there's so much that mirrors how horses operate and how they go against the grain. If you are a leader in business, or if you're looking to become one, you need this conversation. Joe’s curriculum that he uses for training his horses, all of his five C's, are directly applicable to how we lead in business and even how we lead at home.
I am so proud of this conversation because I don’t think I have ever spoken to someone quite as humble and kind as Joe Meisner, a person who is making such a massive impact.

Today we're diving into how to intentionally prepare for summer as an entrepreneurial family. We can get pretty strategic when we're going into a busy season for work, but what does it look like when we're gearing up for a slower season, or a season where our family will be the focus, or when we're intentionally gearing down after a busy season?
We are going into summer, the kids are home, and we're all wondering how we're going to juggle it all. We tend to think that things will just naturally happen, that we will naturally break out of our “hustle” mode. But what if we come into it like we go into a launch or a season of intentional growth in our business, and we planned for it, we strategize around it, we communicated about it, we looked forward to it and we geared up for it? How would that look and feel differently for our kids?
Let’s raise them up right!

There are plenty of people out there who are seen as thought leaders - those who are in authority in a field or a sphere or on a topic. Thought leadership and wanting to become a thought leader is getting thrown around a lot lately but do thought leaders actually lead? Are they focusing on themselves and their authority or are they helping others and looking at who they’re taking with them? Because to me that is what leadership is all about. It’s about who you are taking with you.
You want to know the health of someone's leadership? Look at the health of their team. You want to know the health of someone's leadership in their family? Look at the health of what's going on in their home. Some of these thought leaders have team members who are not being elevated and kids who aren't singing their praises and spouses who don't see the same magic that is perceived by the masses.
So, today we're going to talk about the fact that, from my vantage point, thought leadership and true leadership are not necessarily synonymous. This is such an important conversation that's going to help you step into thought leadership, something that you're working towards while also leading well in your business and your home.

Today, I want to talk to you about creating whitespace as a family. You've heard me talk about creating whitespace in your business and I've walked you through my week to week strategies to have more whitespace so that you can show up consistently. I’ve also shared a little behind the scenes of my quarterly whitespace retreat where I go into visionary mode. Now it’s time to make sure you have that same intentionality with your family.
It is so easy to pack our schedules as people with businesses and kids. Between work stuff, and the kids’ school and extracurricular stuff, house that needs tending to, friends to see, and family to take care of, you may feel like you don’t have an ounce more to give. Trust me, I get it!
But the same way you might feel at max capacity in your business and the thought of creating some whitespace makes you uncomfortable (because you feel like you are not being productive yet you know it is literally the difference maker in the success that you're seeking!) the same reigns true for your family.
This is not just a season, this is now a habit. This hustle, this hurry is a habit and the only way to have that connection, contentment, vision and thriving that you crave as a family is through the creation of more margin. So today, we're talking about what that looks like, how to undo what might be a little bit broken at this point in terms of habits, and how to bring your family along with you.
Let’s raise them up right!

Today, I finally get to fully reveal all the cryptic conversations I've been having with you for months around what we've been working on for nearly a year behind the scenes.
This exciting announcement is something that was placed on my heart quite a few years ago, and I ignored it. Over time, working alongside so many entrepreneurs and witnessing the pain they were feeling by being split in two between their callings in business and in raising their kids in a way that breaks the mold, I knew I couldn’t wait any longer.
Today I get to officially introduce you to the Raising Luminaries Co(op), an uplifting membership home for entrepreneurial parents who want to bridge the gap between their work and their family lives. The Co(op) will provide the resources, the tools, the community and the guidance to raise children who aren't afraid to lead, innovate and think for themselves.
This is something that is going to be so transformative not just for you, but for your kids and your business potential as well.
Let’s raise them up right!

In today’s episode, we are talking about why cultivating the entrepreneurial spirit in your children is one of the most powerful things you can do.
We got a lot of feedback on the conversation we had in our last episode around the purpose of the school system and how it’s failing our kids. Some people were having a hard time with it, asking: “Do you want us to just go pull our kids out of school and start homeschooling?” That's not the purpose of it at all. The purpose is to bring awareness to reality.
There are so many good things that can come from your kids in school or homeschool, but that's not the point. The point is being aware of where the deficits are so that you can fill in those gaps because you feel that same calling that I feel: to raise your kids in leadership, to equip them to go against the grain and to help them become the person they're called to be.
Today's episode is building on that. There's a lot of work that we as parents have to do to infuse all of this into our kids, because they are not going to get it at school. As entrepreneurs, we have a special opportunity that other people just don't have. We get to leverage our gifts as entrepreneurs to raise our kids in that entrepreneurial spirit and to have them be entrepreneurial minded, so that they can leverage that later in life and have a huge advantage, no matter what path they go on in life.

We are talking about why things are happening the way they are in the school systems, why schools are just not cutting it alone, how they are not going to contribute to your kids becoming the leaders they are called to be, and how schools were actually strategically designed to be like corporations during the Industrial Revolution (over 150 freakin years ago!)
You didn't go the conventional route when it came to business, you shouldn't be going a conventional route when it comes to your kid’s education.
Now, I'm not saying pull your kids from school. I'm saying understand and be aware of what's happening so that you can facilitate change in your children's lives and in their growth.
Today, we are going to have a very real, very factually historically based conversation that's going to shake you up and change the trajectory of your future.
Let’s raise them up right!

Feeling guilty as an entrepreneurial parent?
There's no doubt in your mind that solely being a stay at home parent, it's not the call for you. You love entrepreneurship and the gifts that come with it and the potential that comes from it!
Then why do you feel this crippling friggin guilt when you're working? Why do you feel like you should be with your kids, taking care of the family and leading them? How are you supposed to find the capacity to do both at the level you're called to do them?
If you could just be more productive in your work, so that you can be more fully present when you're with your kids. That's the solution, right? Wrong!
And today's conversation is going to reveal to you a better way to overcome guilt as an entrepreneurial parent that will make you feel like you're doing a great job in both worlds.

We all know that comparison is the thief of joy, so in today’s episode we’re going a lot deeper than that. Who and what are you really comparing yourself to? Having a barometer isn't a bad thing, but if it's measuring the wrong metrics, you can get pretty off course relatively quickly, leaving you feeling like you're behind in business or failing your kids.
All that stops today because we're going to have a revealing, powerful, shifting conversation.
P.S. We’re also sharing something really special with you today that's been in the works for a long time!
