11: 被诅咒的现代化·无法和解的海岸线:朝鲜半岛西海岸

如果有个韩国人,从七十年前穿越到今天,看到今天的世界地图——这人或许不会因为朝鲜半岛如今仍然分为两半而感到惊讶,但一定会惊讶于那些曾经辉煌城市的消失。

20世纪初,朝鲜半岛的西海岸有几座赫赫有名的大都市,仁川、群山、木浦…… 它们是贸易和文化的枢纽,人口迅速增长,商业繁荣。任何一张亚洲地图,都会把它们浓墨重彩地标注出来。

在朝鲜半岛西海岸的城市景观中,隐藏着一个难以和解的悖论:那些在日本殖民时期因服务于宗主国利益而繁荣一时的港口城市,在战后陷入了长期的衰落与边缘化。

群山,这座原本的朝鲜半岛西海岸小港口,在日占时期成为重点开发区。1899年开埠后,日本殖民当局将其改造为一座完全按照功能主义原则规划的现代港口城市。

这座城市形成了鲜明的二元结构:现代化的网格区域专供日本人居住和经营,而朝鲜人则被排挤到城市边缘。港口如同针头,源源不断地从朝鲜半岛抽取农产品供给日本。与此同时,半岛本身却陷入了长期的饥荒状态。

1945年后,随着日本战败和朝鲜半岛的分裂,群山失去了其存在的根本理由。在朴时代的「汉江奇迹」中,韩国选择了以首尔–釜山为轴心的东南部优先发展模式,西海岸地区被系统性地抛弃了。

这种政策背后,既有地缘政治,也有政治精英的地域背景。对于群山而言,这种边缘化,是对殖民历史的清算,也是对过往繁荣的彻底否定,是一种「双重剥夺」。从20世纪50年代开始,群山开始了至今仍未结束的漫长衰落期。

朝鲜半岛西海岸城市的现状告诉我们,后殖民格局仍然深刻地束缚着这些地区。现代化从来不是一个单纯的进步叙事,而是充满了矛盾、断裂和创伤的过程。

如今,它们将如何回望过去这段繁荣而痛苦的历史?这些被忽视的城市如何寻找自己的未来?历史的幽灵仍在东北亚上空游荡。听完本期节目,你就会知道,汉洋为什么会说:在东亚,二战就没有结束。
