Have you ever had a personal medical diagnosis or event happen in your life that initially felt like a huge barrier or burden? You didn’t know how you would move past it or learn to live with this barrier in your life. That’s initially how today’s guest, Dane Thomas, felt when he was diagnosed with ADHD as an adult 10 years into his PA career.
But Dane didn’t let his ADHD diagnosis be a detriment to his PA practice or his personal life. Dane found ways to harness his ADHD tendencies to use them as a superpower so that he could be an incredible PA and person. Dane embraced what he initially perceived to be a weakness in order to develop his diagnosis into a strength.
Tune in today’s episode as Dane and I discuss how everyone with mental health issues and learning disabilities have the capacity to achieve great things in their lives. By changing our mindset and utilizing our personality traits in different ways, we can harness what can initially be perceived as a detriment into a strength. Listen in as we discuss how learning to be adaptable and flexible can create positive changes in our own lives, which can be reflected in taking better care of our patients.
