The ‘war on cancer’ of the past 50 years hasn’t exactly worked. Cancer rates are higher than ever, and the dramatic rise in childhood and young adult cancers cannot be explained away with ‘better detection’ that often gets bandied about. It can be easy to be overwhelmed but, hopefully, while it’s impossible to control all possibilities, there is so much we can do. 

Enter investigative journalist, Kristina Marusic, who after writing a 5-part investigative piece on the rise in young people getting cancer, trying to demystify her own sister’s thyroid cancer at 25 where there was zero family history, a publisher reached out and boom: A book defining a “new war on cancer” was born - one that’s going to help us prevent the rise of cancer and turn the story around - an advocacy fight I’ve been on for years, as you all know, helping people reduce their toxin exposures in day to day life. Kristina takes us through some of the stories and situations we can change and impact for the better, along with helping us connect to groups on the front lines of activism and policy change at all levels of government.
