Part of being a weekly podcast and playing the role of media in a sport means that your own athletic goals need to be put more in the background (Jason Dupree doing live streams for The OCR Report, Brakken Krakker recording and producing The Running Public, Matt B Davis heading Hybrid Fitness Media, etc.). That being said, there are still a couple challenges left that Mike has been wanting to take on in the sport of OCR. One of them being wanting to try a Spartan Ultra Beast for the past 8 years, now just called the Spartan Ultra.

Katelyn wanted to do an episode interviewing Mike about his first Spartan Ultra experience, he figured that it wouldn't be nearly as interesting as him doing pit by pit coverage of her first WTM which plan to be done in June. As you can tell from the title though, he/I had my first DNF though so maybe that would be worth talking about for a bit.

We are also supplementing the episode with a reRun of our 17th episode which covered Alex taking on his first Spartan Ultra Beast at the same venue in NJ back in 2017 so it's a bit of a hybrid release!
