Purity culture had an impact on many of us. Purity culture was taught to many of us in varying degrees and seems to have began as a way to keep people from making harmful decisions around their sexuality, but instead led to many relationships and marriages starving from a lack of intimacy.

My guest today tells us her story of being raised in a high demand religious upbringing and how the messages she absorbed impacted her and her then husband in harmful ways.
