Jake competed professionally on the World Surf League (WSL) tour for 11 years. He now coaches several WSL athletes, including 7x World Surfing Champion Steph Gilmore, while playing an active role at We Are Feel Good Inc. as Managing Director.

But what is we are feel good inc? They say that the best ideas are born out of necessity and when a group of six adventure seeking, outdoor lovers found themselves dreaming of a sunscreen that they could ‘feel good’ about – they decided to take matters into their own hands. It was around a campfire on a family surfing trip that three couples, including a doctor, a builder & a professional surfer, decided to stop dreaming, and start doing. After years of researching, developing, refining and testing, We Are Feel Good Inc. was finally launched.

In this episode Jake and I talk a lot about work ethic and how that allowed him to become a pro surfer, we talk about pursuing what you really want to do regardless of other peoples opinions, he shares his experiences as a pro surfer, why he got involved with this sunscreen company and the importance of recycling and looking after our oceans.
