Mold illness changed the course of my life. It led to MCAS, severe eczema, Topical Steroid Withdrawal, nervous system dysregulation, and years of trying to figure out what was actually happening in my body.
In this solo episode, I share what I've learned from my own recovery, studying the mold literature for years, and working with thousands of people affected by mold exposure. I discuss why so many people remain stuck long after leaving the moldy environment and why healing often requires addressing both the physiology and the trauma that mold can create.
I break down the concept of "Mold PTSD"—the hypervigilance, fear of environments, symptom monitoring, loss of trust in your body, and chronic nervous system activation that can persist even when exposure has ended. I also discuss the different approaches to mold recovery, including the work of Ritchie Shoemaker, CellCore-style drainage and detoxification strategies, circadian and quantum biology principles, melatonin research, nervous system regulation, mast cell stabilization, mitochondrial health, and the work of Andrew W. Campbell and serum mycotoxin testing. Rather than following a single mold protocol, I explain why successful recovery often requires integrating multiple frameworks based on the individual person and where they are in the healing process.
