Are you stuck in your recovery journey despite doing all the therapy, reading all the books, or following other methods? You might need a new approach. In this video, I share a unique method for overcoming binge eating, food addiction, and compulsive eating, based on a combination of nutritional science, psychology, exercise science, occupational therapy, and more.
This holistic approach goes beyond cognitive strategies, incorporating mindfulness, circadian rhythm, sensory strategies, movement, and self-compassion. It’s all about engaging your body and senses alongside your mind. I’ll walk you through some of they key components of my approach, providing insights backed by research and personal experience.
Key Components:
Nutrition: The importance of nutrient-dense foods and abstinence from ultra-processed foods.
Mindful Eating: How being present with your food can reduce binge episodes.
Sleep & Circadian Rhythm: Why good sleep is crucial for managing cravings.
Building Awareness: Identifying personal patterns and vulnerabilities to proactively manage urges.
Sensory Strategies: Using the senses to regulate emotions and manage compulsive behaviors.
Movement: The role of exercise in reducing binge eating episodes and improving emotional regulation.
Self-Compassion: Reducing shame and guilt to foster healing.
Connecting to Your Bigger Picture: Moving beyond food struggles to live a life of purpose and passion.
