There are many types of residential,  intensive and individual programs designed to help the addict, but today, Carol the Coach will be interviewing Timothy Lee, who founded  the New York Pathways Relationship Restoration Program. We are featuring this program  because it works from a partner sensitive approach in that it includes loooking at partner trauma. Timothy describes treating both the addict and the betrayed partner and working to restore the relationship. He defines the addicts program as the following: we work from the addiction treatment model, which focuses on abstinence, psychotherapy, peer support and 12-step recovery. For our partners, we are mainly using a trauma model of treatment, helping the partner establish safety self-care and setting boundaries. We also work with the conjoint therapy model. The model focuses on various tasks to be completed to maintain good individual and relational recovery.He does this by meeting with his therapist along with his partner and her therapist.
