I am no stranger to tough decisions, many I have shared here on the podcast and others I have kept private. In this episode I'm opening up about experiences in my life when I have felt so torn about making a decision. I learned something early on, however, that has really helped. And despite knowing this truth, that sometimes there is no right answer, I still grapple with decision-making often.
So if you're like me, what are we to do? There are two questions I want you to ask yourself, to help steer your decision-making in the best direction for you. In this very short episode I will guide you through those questions with my own experiences and helpful tips for you. Let's work together to find fulfillment in making tough choices and feel good about those choices by keeping your identity a top priority.

Does your to-do list make you feel burned out? Part of the problem comes from our hustle culture that glorifies people who “have it all” by doing it all. But, in reality, we can’t have–or do–it all, all the time.
How can we avoid this burnout when we have so much to do?
Greg McKeown has studied and written extensively on this subject. The answer: essentialism. Essentialism is the practice of paring down your life to only the essential. (Ex: simplifying your priorities AND your to-do list.)
But, what happens when even the most essential tasks of life STILL overwhelm you?
This was also the case for Greg. He discovered that although essentialism is THE start to living a more balanced life, there’s another step that follows: making what’s essential effortless.
In this episode, Greg talks about how you (as a REAL woman) can implement his ideas. You’ll leave with two questions you can ask when you feel burned out: “Is this essential?” And, “How can I make what is essential effortless?”
Plus, you’ll hear practical steps you can take to actually apply this in your life.
If you want to avoid burnout AND have the ability to do what matters most without the hustle, you won’t want to miss this episode!

If you ever procrastinate, know you’re not alone. All humans on earth procrastinate on some level. It’s sooo easy to get lost in “procrastination loops.” (Enter: scrolling endlessly on social media.)
Procrastination doesn’t just prevent you from getting things done, like doing the dishes or cleaning the house.
Procrastinating also prevents you from being the person you want to be. We even procrastinate our dreams, goals, and habits!
How can we disrupt these procrastination loops and manage our procrastination tendencies?
Today I’m sharing an interview I did with Rachel Nielson on her podcast 3 in 30: Takeaways For Moms. You’ll learn WHAT procrastination is and WHY it’s super easy to fall into endless loops of procrastination and three ways you can better control your procrastination tendencies.

Do you ever find yourself left with no time to work on yourself and habits because you’re managing your household?
We’ve been told that “women can have it all,” but to have it all, we find ourselves doing it all . . .
Research shows that regardless of whether women do paid-work in or out of the home, they manage the majority of household responsibilities.
To top it all off, research shows that housework is hugely undervalued both by the world and by our family members. (That includes the ways we undervalue our own contributions, too.)
This combo of too-little-time and too-little-value leads to discord and resentment.
In this week’s episode, I invited Eve Rodsky to help us work through these issues so we can have more fairness in housework and improve relationships (+ more time!) Eve spent over a decade studying the imbalance in time/value spent on housework and created a life-changing solution she calls the Fair Play system that solves so many of these problems.
In this episode, Eve teaches you how to restore fairness to the housework and how doing so will benefit every member of the family.
(Teaser: fairness isn’t about dividing the household tasks and responsibilities 50/50.)
It’s time to have more time, to feel more valued, and to improve your relationships, too. Listen in and learn how!

Earlier this week I released an episode about the different types of self care, and answered some call-ins from members of the community who wanted help in that area. One, in particular, mentioned an obstacle that so many of us are facing, and it warranted its own short Growth Spurt episode today.
What do you do when you have the time for taking care of yourself, but are turning to numbing behaviors instead of fulfilling ones? In the future I have an info-packed episode coming all about numbing behaviors, but today I want to just share what works for me, in the hopes you might be inspired for yourself. I hope you tune in for the steps I try to take when I find myself not using my precious time in ways that truly align with my values. Let me know if this is something that can work for you, too!

Are you exhausted?
When I say “exhausted,” I don’t just mean being physically tired. Are you mentally, emotionally, and spiritually exhausted, too? This kind of exhaustion makes every part of living feel hard and heavy.
Everyone seems to be exhausted, especially us women. It doesn’t take much to understand why as we near the second anniversary of a worldwide pandemic. (We feel stressed, overwhelmed, and overworked, most of the time with little support.)
If you’re feeling exhausted, know you’re not alone! (I’ve been there with you, too!) But, there’s one thing that we can control that makes us feel less exhausted and more like ourselves:
Self-care.
We all know that there are major societal changes needed to better support women, especially those that act as care-givers. But, in the meantime we can’t wait. We have to start by better caring for ourselves.
Listen to learn about the three-types of self-care you need in your life, and how to overcome the most common self-care hurdles.
No matter your situation, you can stop feeling so “exhausted” and start feeling more like yourself!
