The Manhattan DA’s office has opened a criminal investigation into the allegations made by Congressman Eric Swalwell’s former staff member who claims Swalwell raped her in a New York City hotel room in 2024. The young woman made several allegations against the leading Democratic candidate for California Governor that spanned several years along with 3 other women who made allegations of sexual harassment against Swalwell. Meantime, Swalwell’s senior staffers put out a joint statement distancing themselves from their boss, saying they stand with his accusers.

There are growing calls for California Congressman Eric Swalwell to drop out of the race for Governor amid accusations of sexual assault and sexually inappropriate behavior with other young women. At least four women have spoken out detailing several alleged incidents, all of which Congressman Swalwell has denied. Swalwell is a married father of three who has been a member of Congress since 2013.

58-year-old Brian Hooker told a friend via text that his wife fell overboard in choppy seas and “swam towards the sailboat” the night she went missing in the Bahamas. Hooker’s texts to a friend reveal new and inconsistent information surrounding the disappearance of 55-year-old Lynette Hooker. Hooker remains behind bars, and has not yet been charged in his wife’s disappearance, but his attorney says he nearly drowned himself while being arrested and is “heartbroken and deeply distressed.”

A three judge panel is weighing whether to acquit Sean “Diddy” Combs or reduce the 50 month sentence he received at trial. Comb’s attorneys argued their client received the highest sentence ever imposed for the prostitution crimes he was convicted of last summer. The prosecution insisted that Comb’s sentencing was appropriate and below federal guidelines. After the two hour hearing, a ruling could now come at any time.

62-year-old architect, father and former husband Rex Heuermann pleaded guilty to a series of murders that plagued Long Island for 2 decades. As victims’ families gathered in court, Heuermann detailed how he strangled and dismembered the women while hiding in plan sight, posing as a normal suburban Dad. As part of his plea deal, the Gilgo Beach serial killer will be interviewed by the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit to try and understand what drove him to become the monster he is today.
