This week, we are bringing back our farm safety series. This is the first time that we're getting the perspective of a mom who had a child that was injured on their farm.

Katie's son got his hand stuck in a feed auger. And the story is pretty incredible. She shares how sometimes like the knowledge that the farmers have of the equipment can be very helpful in a situation where somebody has some sort of limb or some sort of injury. And that was very true in this case, and they were able to actually save her son's hand because of the knowledge that the farmers had.

Katie also talks about how she did get to a point where she needed therapy and she prioritized her mental health.

This series bring on different farm families to share their real-life experiences to raise awareness about farm dangers, help other agricultural families prepare, and offer support after accidents.

In this powerful and emotional episode, we sit down with Madi Kerr, a young woman from a multi-generational Indiana farm, to share a story of unimaginable loss and resilience. Maddie recounts the tragic day her family lost her brother, Kyle, in a grain entrapment accident at just 13 years old. With heartfelt honesty, Madi opens up about the impact of that day, the strength of her family, and the role their tight-knit community played in supporting them during their darkest time.
