“Look there!”

“Voca, that’s called a shuttle airplane heading to the commonwealth. You see that notch? That signifies the commonwealth. When they embark their troops to the battlefield, they use that shuttle airplane. I guess another country is trying to vie with our country,” Biggy said.

“Biggy, 일어나봐! 얼른!” Voca 가 Biggy 에게 물을 뿌리며 소리쳤다.

“이 소란은 대체 뭐야? 오늘 따라 니 목소리가 정말 귀에 거슬린다! 은하계에 있는 모든 별들이 사라지기라도 한거니?” Biggy 가 물었다.

“뭐? 니가 어떻게 알아?”

“저길 봐!”

“Voca, 저건 연방정부로 가고있는 정기 왕복 항공기야. 저 표시가 보이니? 저 표시가 연방정부를 뜻해. 연방 정부가 군인들을 싸움터로 파견할 때 저 항공기를 사용해. 아마 다른 나라가 우리나라와 경쟁하려고 하는것 같아,” Biggy 가 말했다.

“Yeah I know. My turtles also loved cereal, so I had a repository filled with cereal. Although I had scant provisions for myself, I tried my best to give what I can for my turtles. So sometimes I had an ambivalent feeling toward them, because I made beautiful vests for them when I was wearing rags. Man, now you’re making me fall into nostalgia!” the boy shouted.

“Oh, and I wish I had bought a bottle of ale for my father before we reached a juncture. I miss them dearly.”

Young Biggy was scared, so he started to shudder, and because he shuddered so much, he felt like as if his retinas were shaking, too. Then, Biggy’s father and the guerrilla swapped something. Biggy didn’t know what it was, but he saw that they were exchanging something. Since then, Biggy’s father slacked at his job. Biggy was confused.

When the rain poured down in torrents, Biggy woke up from a long dream, because he felt something greasy touching him – raindrops. He slept for hours since he felt safe in his haven. Comforted, Biggy was amused, so he felt like dancing to the groove and humming, so he did. When he saw himself, he knew that his joy finally has transcended his sadness coming from life’s predicaments. He knew that he will never be inflicted with pain anymore; however, he never knew that he was on the brink of danger.

The town’s canyon was twofold beautiful that Biggy thought he was watching a cartoon, and he wanted to throw lavish praise on the scenery. When Biggy was busy enjoying the scenery, he heard somebody moaning. Biggy first hid himself and watched with vigilance. There was a boy who was bleeding so badly. Biggy felt like he should help the poor boy out, so he decided to approach him. “I think you need to get stitches,” said Biggy. “No! Don’t touch me,” the boy made a fuss.

“I’m just trying to help you. What happened?”

“Really? Well, my town is devastated, because there was a huge fight between townsmen and the government. The courageous citizens decided to defy the government and the Senate decided to repeal all the laws that guarantee citizens’ rights. I ran away, of course.”

마을의 협곡은 두배로 아름다워서 Biggy는 자신이 만화영화를 보고있노라고 착각할 정도였고, Biggy는 아낌없는 찬사를 주고싶었다. 그가 풍경에 빠져 정신없을 때 누군가가 아픔에 신음하는 소리를 들었다. Biggy 는 우선 자기 자신을 숨기고 경계하는 마음으로 지켜보았다. 어떤 한 소년이 피를 많이 흘리고 있었다. Biggy 는 불쌍한 소년을 도와줘야겠다고 생각해서 그에게 다가갔다. “너 거기 상처 꿰메야 할것같은데,” Biggy 가 말하였다. “안돼! 날 만지지말아줘,” 소년이 야단법석을 떨었다.

“No, not exactly. I’m just guessing that they’re from the Senate, because they had platinum swords. Oh, when the town was completely devastated, the soldiers suspended their flags from the windows.”

Maybe those people can help him out to fight against the Senate!

Biggy was not familiar with politics, but he knew that there was a great disparity between the anarchistic party and the Senate. Of course, the relationship between the Senate and Biggy will worsen, but who cares? So Biggy decided to go visit the anarchist party. He first had to study algebra and topography to get to the anarchistic town, because it was very far. He had to surf miles. It was not easy, because he suffered a relapse of arthritis. The affliction was unbearable, but it was no use crying over spilt milk – he had to go! Finally, when he arrived, he saw a sign that said the following slogan: “Let’s get rid of the Senate!” When Biggy walked into the town, he saw forces deployed at the gates.

Biggy 는 정치에 대해 잘 몰랐지만 무정부당과 상원 사이에 아주 큰 차이가 있다는것은 알고 있었다. 그래서 만약 상원이 Biggy 가 무정부당을 찾아 간 사실을 알게 된다면 그 사실이 상원을 격분시킬것이다. 그것 참 재밌네! 당연히 상원과 Biggy 의 사이는 더 나빠지겠지만 누가 신경쓰겠는가? 그래서 Biggy 는 무정부당을 찾아가기로 마음먹었다. 그가 무정부당을 찾아가기 위해선 대수학과 지형학을 공부해야했다. 왜냐하면 굉장히 멀었기 때문이다. 그는 긴 거리를 서핑해서 가야했다. 결코 쉽지않았다. 왜냐면 그의 골다공증이 재발해버렸기 때문이다! 고통은 참을 수 없었지만 이미 엎어진 물을 주워 담을수는 없었다. 그는 가야만 했다. 드디어 그가 도착 했을때 그는 표어가 적혀있는 표지판을 보았다: “상원을 없애자!” Biggy 가 마을 안으로 들어갔을 때, 그는 마을 입구들에 배치되어있는 군대를 보았다.

The edifices were so huge that they looked like the mountains about to go through volcanic eruptions. The primacy part of the city was seeing women weaving baskets, children playing with a puppy, pilots practicing aviation, doctors treating influenza, teenagers rapping on the streets, and ladies looking at themselves through the convex mirror. Honestly, these ordinary scenes were not so ordinary in his town – so he couldn’t consider these events as antecedents. Biggy was happy to be here.

건물들은 마치 화산 폭발을 할듯한 산처럼 컸다. 이 도시의 최고 부분은 바구니를 짜는 여인네들, 강아지와 노는 아이들, 비행을 연습하는 조종사들, 독감을 치료하는 의사들, 길에서 랩을 하는 청소년들, 그리고 볼록 거울을 통해서 자신을 바라보는 아가씨들을 볼수있다는 점이였다. 사실 지극히 평범한 일상들이 Biggy의 마을에선 흔치않은 광경이였다. 그래서 그는 이 장면들을 선행된 장면이라고 생각하지 않았다. Biggy 는 이곳에 왔다는 사실이 참 기뻤다.

Biggy was very surprised, because people often called the anarchistic city one of the worst towns. Even the chronology in the history textbook didn’t mention anything about the establishment of the anarchistic party. Everything about the anarchist party was blurry and under the stereotype that anarchy is always bad. Biggy thought this was unfair, because to him, the anarchistic town was one of the premier ones. So he thought it was necessary to amend the law and teach people about the anarchist party.

Because of hours of surfing and walking, Biggy’s body started to ache, so he decided to take a recess. He right away fell into the trance state, for he felt so comfortable lingering away the afternoon at the town. In his dream, his mom combed his hair and he was one happy boy.

There were many ideas, but Biggy was tired of listening to all the opinions. In fact, Biggy didn’t want to hear any opaque yarn – he wanted to hear a plan that can actually be enacted. So he told people to get more serious about planning.

When the feast was ready, the butcher called Biggy and his crowd. While eating, the crowd continuously discussed about the plan, yet without any final decision, the crowd went back home, because they were exhausted after a long day. So Biggy went back to his truck, alone. When Biggy lied down on the mattress to take a rest after a long, dreadful day, he couldn’t stop lamenting – he was too young to handle this by himself.

The orator’s face was covered with tar, and in hurry, he said to Biggy, “I’m here to do my errand. The Senate told me to tell you that you are convicted of homicide. You cannot be bailed out, and even a fabulous sum of money won’t do any good. I’m out. Good luck!”

Biggy 가 아침 디저트를 즐기고 있을 때 누군가가 와서 그의 문을 두드렸다. 정체모를 남자는 날카로운 신음 소리를 뱉어내고 있었다. All he did this morning was eating his desserts and carbohydrates. Then, Biggy was afraid that the Senate may plunder all his properties. But first, he had to calm down, so he tried to find ways to dilute his fear. He thought of good old days when he went on a ski excursion with his friends. There, he met the master of dialectic who knew how to discuss the truth of opinions. That’s when Biggy decided to find the dialectic philosopher – maybe he can help Biggy out!

He even thought of ramping about the town like a phantom. Yes, Biggy was hopeless – he seriously didn’t know what to do.

Yes, I’m alone, and I wish my parents were here to take care of me. When the loneliness prevails me, I feel like jumping off the ledge; however, every time when I feel sad, I pinch myself to wake up. This cycle has been repeating itself since the Senate accused me for selling beads. Nowadays, my biggest concern is my bleak future. What am I going to do when I can no longer sell the beads?”

“그래서, 요즘 어떻게 지내는데?” 사람들이 Biggy 에게 물었다.

“글쎄, 요즘은 내 주위를 내 삶에 적용시키고 있어. 그래도 공기가 통하는 작은 공간은 필요해. 행복해 지기 위해서 봄에 싹이 트는 나무와 꽃을 생각해. 알을 깨고 나오는 곤충을 볼때면 알을 살짝 젖혀줘. 벌레가 좀 더 쉽게 세상에 나올 수 있도록. 그리고 나서 벌레를 잘 키워줘, 왜냐면 벌레를 볼때마다 불쌍한 나를 보는거같아서 말야. 난 혼자잖아. 우리 부모님이 나를 챙겨줬으면 좋겠다는 생각을 해. 정말이지, 외로움이 나를 압도 할때면 절벽의 바위위에서 뛰어 내리고 싶은 심정이야. 하지만 내가 슬플때 마다 난 내 자신을 꼬집어서 정신차리게끔 만들어. 상원이 내가 구슬을 판다는 이유로 나를 비난 했을 때 부터 이런 일들이 계속 주기적으로 반복되고 있어. 요즘 들어 나의 가장 큰 고민은 나의 어두운 미래야. 내가 구슬을 앞으로 팔지 못하면 난 어떻게 해야하지?”

“But I think it was a wondrous idea. If you seriously want to fight against the Senators, you must forget the dogma,” an old man added.

“흠… 하지만 상원의원들을 공격 하기 전에 공격을 한번 모의실험으로 해보고싶은데. 어떻게 하면 될까요?” Biggy 가 물었다.

“오케이. 기운없게 굴지 맙시다. 이 과정을 빨리 진행시킬 수 있는 방법이 내게 있으니. 우선 돈을 위조하면 상원의원들이 우리가 내린 결정에 대해 격분할거에요. 그리고 생각해보세요 – 돈을 위조하면 돈벌이가 되고, 또 내가 추측하건대 마을의 모든 악당들이 개미의 군대 처럼 줄을 서서 우리를 도우러 올거에요. 그때 우리가 공격 모의실험을 한번 해보죠! 아마 충분한 사람이 준비되어 있을터이니. 어때요? 이제 갈비나 뜯으러 갈까요?” 노인이 대답하였다.

Biggy had to make a drastic decision to reap great results. Yes, he desperately wanted to win the battle against merciless Senators. So he first decided to make himself thinner to be more agile. Thus, he tried a new regimen – drinking rum and eating cherry every single day. People said his dietary style was junk, but he didn’t care.

A few months later, people realized that Biggy’s posterior, his butt, had almost vanished! Of course, people were so curious about his way of losing weight and started asking for more information. Surprisingly, Biggy proudly said, “Let me impart the knowhow to you. Seriously, I did nothing but drinking rum and eating cherry!” The crowd felt so betrayed, because they knew Biggy was lying. Thus, to mitigate the crowd’s anger, Biggy said, “Okay, okay! Fine. I’ll tell you the truth. Ok, so!”

“I first researched about a life annuity, because I was afraid something might happen to me during my diet. Once I settled my life annuity, I then studied to gain the lore of herbs, because I knew that herbs are good for you. Then, I’d decided to learn acrobatic feats, because man, those moves make you lose so much weight! Then I learned a ballet dance. I was so jolly when learning how to dance. However, things started to rot when a mailman on a chariot tossed me a letter dispatched from the Senate. The letter stated, “Biggy should never learn how to ballet dance.” That’s when I realized that it’s God’s providence to fight against the Senators. Yes, the Senators were luring me into a trap.”

“우선 제일 먼저 종신연금에 대해서 알아봤어. 왜냐면 다이어트를 하다가 나한테 무슨일이 생길지도 모른다는 두려움때문이였어. 종신 연금 부분에 대해서 다 처리를 한 후, 허브에 대한 지식을 쌓기 위해 공부했어. 왜냐면 허브가 몸에 좋다는 걸 알고 있었기 때문이지. 그다음엔 곡예를 배우기로했어. 왜냐면, 정말이지, 그 움직임들은 살을 많이 빼게 도와주거든. 그 다음에 발레를 배웠어. 춤을 배울때 난 정말 행복했어. 그런데 마차를 타고 온 집배원이 상원으로 부터 온 편지를 던져준 순간부터 모든 상황이 악화되기 시작했어. 그 편지엔 이렇게 적혀있었어: “Biggy 는 발레를 절대로 배워서는 안돼.” 그때 난 깨달았어. 내가 상원의원들을 상대로 싸우는건 신의 섭리라는것을. 맞아, 상원 의원들은 나를 올가미로 꾀어들이려고 한거지.“

So I went to the saloon to meet my friends; however, suddenly, the owner asked my crew to evacuate, because she received a letter from the Senators to never allow me into her saloon! I was so upset, so I was about to go outside and burn the façade of the saloon. But my friends deterred me from doing so. You see? A wide cleavage between me and the Senate is becoming wider and more bitter.”

“나는 상원의원들의 말씀이라면 꼭 따라야 하는 형식적인 전통때문에 아무것도 할 수 없었어. 알아, 정말 말도안되지. 그냥 해적처럼 단검을 들어서 상원을 공격하고 싶었다니까. 왜냐면 이 우주에서 나 혼자만 있는 것 같았거든. 그래서 친구들을 만나러 술집에 들렀어. 근데 갑자기 주인이 우리보고 나가달라고 하더라. 상원의원들이 그녀의 술집에 나를 절대로 들이지 말라고 했다나! 난 정말 화가나서 밖에 나가 이 술집의 앞면을 불태워버리고 싶었어. 하지만 내 친구들이 말렸지. 이제 알겠지? 나와 상원의 사이의 분열은 점점 커지고 있고 더욱 더 심해지고있어.”
