The “epitome of consistency” is exactly who our guest is from week to week on the KCBS competition circuit. Brad Leighninger is the head pitmaster for the championship winning Gettin’ Basted Competition BBQ Team. This team has finished no less than 7th place in the last 6 consecutive KCBS Team of the Year standings, winning it out right 2 of those years (there are literally thousands of registered KCBS teams).  Just last year Brad’s barbecue team edged out Joe Pearce of “SLAP’S BBQ” by 2 points, 2670 to 2668, to win the Kansas City Barbecue Society 2020 Team of the Year.  Leighninger is also a hot and fast cooker with multiple Grand and World Championships that prove it can be done.
