Today we’re talking about the transition from being a solopreneur (running a one-person show) to becoming a business owner and leading a team. While there’s pros and cons to each, we love to see our businesses scale and create massive impact. But where do you even start when you’ve been running the business yourself for so long?
Today we chat about our favorite ways to identify which tasks you can and should delegate. We discuss some of our favorite ways to streamline training new staff (get those processes in place!) and how to make sure you’re hiring the right people. We even get real about what it’s like to let someone from your team go. We hope this episode kicks off your business growth!

So you think you might be ready to take the leap and go all in on your business? Hell yes! Nothing fires us up more. But before you jump, here’s a few key things you may want to ask yourself to see if you’re actually ready to leave your full time gig. These are the questions we asked ourselves before ever considering leaving our 9-5 jobs and opening our businesses.
Have you put in the hours to map out your business model, test the market, and network? Are you ready to be on 24/7? Do you have a plan for your health insurance and retirement? Do you have savings in case your business isn’t able to pay you right away? While these questions may seem scary - we’re breaking them down to show you how they might be more realistic than you’d think. Enjoy!

Today we had the absolute pleasure of sitting down with Michael Oxton, co-founder of Night Shift Brewing! Michael takes us way back to the early days of Night Shift, when he and two friends bought a “brew at home” kit and started making beer in their Sommerville apartment. They opened their first location in Everett in 2012 where they brewed 250 barrels of beer. Fast forward to today when they brew 35 thousand barrels of beer annually!
Michael walks us through some of the keys to success in this industry - including switching from bottles to cans, starting a distribution company, and saying “no” to a massively tempting deal for the name “Night Shift.” Michael is so down to earth, and has never let his success cloud his vision of the company mission. We absolutely love this conversation. Enjoy!
