China's tourism revenue will reach 1.71 trillion yuan in the first half of 2022, according to the China Tourism Academy (CTA).

When China Daily visited a Metro supermarket in the city's Putuo district on Wednesday, some 60 staff members were busy packing goods, including vegetables, meat and fruit, and loading them onto delivery vehicles, even though it is only open in an online capacity.

The Communist Party of China does not have its own interests and Party officials should not harbor any selfish interests, said Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, urging Party officials to put all their efforts into ensuring the people live a good life.

He made the remark while visiting Maona, a village in the city of Wuzhishan, on Monday, the second day of his inspection tour in the southern island province of Hainan.

Shanghai began implementing a three-zone epidemic control system on Monday that categorizes communities based on the level of COVID-19 infections, which will allow some residents restricted movement.

The city, which has been under lockdown, released a list of more than 17,600 communities based on the latest citywide nucleic acid test results that were available on Monday morning. The list will continue to be updated in accordance with the categorized epidemic control system.

Domestic airlines are taking the brunt of financial pressures caused by the latest resurgence of the COVID-19 pandemic, and they have launched additional innovative services to stay afloat. Yet, analysts remain cautious about the extent to which the service can help carriers increase revenues.
