The winter drought followed an intense, protracted heatwave across Italy last summer. In August, Siracusa in Sicily is believed to have broken the European record for the highest temperature when it recorded a figure of 48.8℃. Snowfall has also been below average this winter.

Your eyes pick up color using a type of cell called cones in your retina. The same is true for dogs, though our cones aren't exactly the same.

Shanghai is racing against time to ensure the swift quarantine of COVID-19 patients to break the transmission link of the virus and curb the current outbreak, which has caused more than 73,000 new infections since March.
