In this episode of Dentistry Disrupted, Dr. Clayton explains why dental insurance is NOT actually dental insurance. It is a discount plan (at best). He talks about how this negatively impacts patient care and in the end leads patients to spend even more money on dental work. Dr. Clayton also discusses why it causes problems for doctors, too. In this episode, Dr. Clayton rants about the issues with dental insurance and how that is one of the main drivers of the issues I see in the dental industry, the problems with dental school curriculum, and how those things have lead to outdated dentistry that is more focused on symptoms than on real solutions.
