This is a very touchy topic to talk about. Why? People take their weight loss very personally. There is this odd behavior that people do - they attach their worth and value to their weight and most people who really struggle with losing weight really beat themselves up and get really down because they can’t achieve the weight loss that they are looking for. This is why as coaches, we need to have empathy and approach this topic with the sensitivity it demands while also discussing the truth so that we can overcome our own setbacks. Weight loss and health are incredibly nuanced. I want to start off by saying that I am not a doctor or expert on hormones or anything of the sort. This episode is serving as a general educational discussion as a place to start the conversation and help direct behavior patterns when it comes to weight loss. This is just the very top of the conversation and I am sure it will change as we continue to learn more about the human body. But this is how the topic stands today!
Short answer: hormones don't prevent you from losing weight but they can affect your behavior and that does.
