Imagine a website void of all words.
What would it look like?
There's be colors, of course. You'd likely see some pictures of people or products. There will be buttons and maybe even forms. But, when combined, do all of those things give you a clear idea what the site is about? Would you be able to identify what kind of business it is? Who the professional is (and what they do!), or anything else?
Chances are, you wouldn't be able to tell a thing about a website if it didn't have words on it.
So, why are so many small business owners still not investing in their websites?
Now, we’re talking about web copy today simply because I’m biased. As a website copywriter, my job is to write website words, and I’m pretty passionate about cheering on creative entrepreneurs and smart service providers.
But the point stays the same when you translate it to any type of marketing message: Without words, there's a very slim chance that your audience is going to understand your message, and more importantly there's an even smaller chance that they'll connect with it.
But let's stick with websites for this episode. Here, we'll learn .why having a website is so important for any small business owner in 2022, what we can learn from sites who obviously didn't invest in their web projects, and talk about the many ways to build (or rebrand) an online presence, regardless of whether you've been in business for a while or you're just starting out.
