A Patient came to me recently that had been evaluated for high Fibrinogen in the past. I usually get labs if a patient requests them. But I don't routinely follow fibrinogen. This video tells why. It also goes into the history of fibrinogen. I was discovered to be a risk over 30 years ago, in studies like Framingham.

Several LEI ( Life Extension Institute) articles were published after these indicating major risk factors. I quoted one, which gave an indicator of both management (aspirin, vits A, C and E, ) and of course, smoking cessation, weight loss, and management of blood pressure.
