It's now less than two weeks until 17 million Aussies will head to the local polling station to cast their vote in the Federal election and hopefully get a free democracy sausage to celebrate.

But what happens if you don't know who to vote for? Or maybe you don't really understand how our preferential voting system works anyway? And how do you cut through all the noise and work out who actually stands for what?
