  • Ted Lasso Punched Baby Yoda

Facts are facts and we’ve got the audio to prove it, plus Em has found even more reasons not to watch the TV series ‘Ted Lasso’, all the details are within this episode. We start by reflecting on Em’s dog Toby passing away last week and how it affected a speech she had to give on the Gold Coast. Then it’s onto the reboot of the 90’s TV series ‘Heartbreak High’, it’s now streaming on Netflix and it’s officially amazing. There’s also drama around the filming of Season 3 of ‘Ted Lasso’ that Em is mad keen to delve into, plus a truck full of special “neck” massagers and lube were spilled all over a freeway in America and they crossed to it live on the news in the US, so of course we need to play you that audio and talk about it. Finally Lady Gaga had to call it quits on a concert in Miami because of lightning strikes and took to social media to deliver a tear soaked apology which is truly peak level diva goodness and naturally we ATE. IT. UP. You’ll hear the entire thing and we’ll be talking through our favourite bits. You’ll even get a teensy tiny reflection of the funeral to end all funerals just so we can talk about Fergie, because of course we are.

  • Pummel Me Like a Wildebeest Stampede

So we took a poll on Em’s socials and asked you to pick our episode title with zero context, your two options were “I’m Queer and I Want To Be Baited” or the equally baffling “Pummel Me Like a Wildebeest Stampede”. Turns out a lot of you seemed very taken by the pummeling, hence why it’s now living it’s best life as the title above this description, job well done Emsolators. Naturally you’ll get full context around both of those quotes within this episode, the first one relates to Harry Styles new movie ‘My Policeman’ and the second one was inspired by the revelation that Em spent time writing erotic fan fiction about the cartoon version of Mufusa from ‘The Lion King’. I know totes shook right, also apparently we will NEVER find it. We also talk the backlash to Em’s post about the passing of the Queen, all our favourite Emmy acceptance speech highlights and the best bits of the upcoming Disney movie announcements. There’s even some talk about the forthcoming ‘Interview with a Vampire’ TV series and some such about using your hands while making a fist, so maybe don’t listen to this around your children, unless you like having far ranging and slightly uncomfortable conversations of course.

  • Unhinged on Hinge

Heads up, in this episode Michael mentions we are untethered TWICE, so pretty much prepare yourself for our standard level of hectic. To start, we do a deep dive into the full story behind that car crash of a press launch for Olivia Wilde’s new movie ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ at the Venice Film Festival. Em has given the entire back story behind the film’s production a forensic level of examination and together with her best friend Michael and her eldest daughter Chella they’re going to dive face first into ALL the drama. Once they’ve spent about 20 minutes picking that apart, we also have time to drop in on the drama that Ye, formerly the artist known as Kanye West, has dropped about Kim K’s bowel movements. Finally Em unleashes the awkward as she ushers in a chat about her eldest daughter Chella’s love life, while Chella is alongside her and on the mic. It’s our most unhinged chat ever, with equal parts weird and hilarious and it could quite honestly ruin any chance of Chella ever dating again, so no pressure what so ever.

  • Free Time Tuesday - A Poke with Hope

Em reminisces about her underage disco days and reflects on what actually went on in those dark corners, before she touches on a video that literally “changed her DNA” and says that it will do the same for you! It’s free Time Tuesday y’all, get weird!

  • A Plastic Bag Drifting Through the Wind

Do you ever feel like you’re a plastic bag, drifting through the wind, who’s listening to a podcast where other plastic bags are doing the same kind of thing? If the answer is “yes” then this is definitely the podcast episode for you. Em is back with her bestie Michael and her eldest daughter Chella, who both needed a talking to about bringing more energy into the pod. Once that was sorted it was onto the news that Britney has dropped a brand new single with Elton John, and also a 22 minute audio confession detailing some of the suffering she experienced whilst under the guardianship of her father. There’s a lot to unpack there but Em watched the entire thing so you don’t have to, plus we’ve added all the key moments so you’ll be totes up to speed. We follow that with more on Beyonce’s latest album, we still don’t have any videos, plus Em is now a full convert and totally addicted, much to Michael’s unabashed joy and excitement. There’s also Lil Nas X’s outfits and Taylor Swift’s easter egg reveals at the MTV VMA’s to cover off, and we need to talk Father’s Day and what level of petty is Em allowed to unleash on the day considering how awful her Mother’s Day was. You’ll also get more goat screams, rando singing outburst and way too much talk about not using tissues for a runny nose, so pretty much our standard stuff.

  • My Historic Address - Before, During and Directly After

It’s finally happened! After months of stress, anxiety, re-writes, a bunch of spiralling and a raft of undocumented side quests, Em has finally stepped up to the podium at the National Press Club in Canberra to deliver her “historic” address. You’ll find out who named it “historic” and also get an inside feel for how Em was feeling on the morning of her speech. Once Michael arrived in Canberra they sat down to talk about as many things as they could think of to distract Em before the Press Club address, which means we got to hear a smidge about the behind the scenes happenings of Em’s upcoming appearance on Season 2 of Michael’s TV series ‘The Newsreader’. We also found time to reflect on the loss of the wonderfully talented Margaret Urlich and process the upsetting news that Em’s idol, John Peter Farnham, has endured a marathon surgery to remove a cancer tumour from his mouth. Finally we follow all that up with Em’s full speech from the podium at the National Press Club, plus Em and Michael recorded a special chat directly after she stepped off stage to reflect how she was feeling once it was all done.
