In this episode, we welcome back one of Luis's teachers, Maureen Gallagher, a Licensed Psychologist (NY, NJ), Somatic Experiencing Faculty Member, and Inner Relationship Focusing Trainer
Maureen and Luis dive deep into Inner Relationship Focusing (IRF), sharing how it has been an integral part to their Somatic Experiencing practices. They explore what it means to have a relationship with various parts of you, in the same way you would with another being.
They also explain how IRF helps us connect the "I" we consciously identify with and the other needs or motivations we may have in our body, allowing us to begin to release feelings of shame or guilt and instead pivot to curiosity of these seemingly "out of control" habits and behaviors.
Maureen leads us through a brief IRF practice as well as shares details about her IRF course offerings.
