Happy Friday sister!
We have arrived. Actually, I secretly wish I could sleep the day away because my bed is cozy & even though I do enjoy this time of year there is just SO MUCH To DO! Speaking of which, are you ready for turkey day? I will be showing up at my in-laws pies in hand & ready to enjoy all the holiday brings. However, this wasn't always the case for me. For a decade I spent my life dreading this holiday. I would legit fantasize about how I could get out of being around "all that food" & even around my family, who I thought was watching me with each bite. Are you feeling this way?
You don't have to sit in this mess & let it become who you are and that be it.
This is just a speed bump.
This is just a blimp in your journey here.
If you are a loved one of someone who struggles with an eating disorder and you are unsure of what to do next, you don't have to have it all figured out, but it is important to get as educated as possible so you can help support your person.
In Episode 183, I'm going to be talking about boundaries & what to do when your family just doesn't understand.
~
Boundaries are a better you, & in order to be the BEST version of you, you have to put some boundaries in place. It's so important.
If you struggle with disordered eating, it's vital that you understand in some form or fashion that it affects and hurts every person close to you in your life. Yes, this is an isolating disease, but it echoes to everyone around you.
It's like a domino. It just dominoes over & you can be in your own feels & you can think that it's not harming people that are in your circle.
But if you don't have energy, you're snapping at your kids.
If you don't have energy, you're nasty to your husband.
If you aren't nourishing yourself or eating properly, you're not honoring yourself and therefore you're not giving your best version to everyone else.
My goal today is that this helps you as you head into the holidays & that it encourages you to keep walking along your path to freedom.
I believe in you sis!
sending all the recovery hugs,
lindsey
