Zacca and Matt catch up on a huge result from our very own Run2pb junior development recipient Kiara Flavel. Who in her under 17 age group, placed 1st in the 800m and 4th in the 1500m at the recent national track and field championships in Sydney. They discuss what an amazing result for Kiara and her coach Brendan Dixon.
Run culture founder and gun physiotherapist Dane Verwey drops in for a chat, less than a week before he takes to the start line of the Athletics Australia elite marathon. Dane goes through how he has adapted his build up and listened to his body to ensure he is fresh and ready to attack the race. He goes through the last few weeks of his build up, how he plans on tapering, his pacing strategy and nutrition plan. Dane also jumps in to chat about how Matt and Zacca have gone over the past week. Matt still battles with some fatigue whilst Zacca hits the ground running with a solid 129km week, a corker of a 10 miler progression and loads up for a big 4k/3k/2k/1k/1k session. They also answer off a listener question about what nutritional supplements they take in a marathon block.
