In this weeks episode of the Better with Running Podcast, Zacca and Chris are joined by a special guest - Steve Langdon, “Kiwi Steve” - Zacca’s training partner and club mate, who also has interest in sports psychology.

Zacca and Chris interrogate his strava as some kms spike in his return to training. Steve then is put on the spot with some quick fire questions, which leads to an in-depth discussion on Mac and Cheese and an instruction from Chris for photos and a recipe.
Chriso goes through his sessions for the week, highlighted with his first session in alphaflys and hits 71k before getting ready for relay lining up for the Bats. Zacca lines up at parkrun and has a positive experience, with more consistent splits than his last hit out, leading chriso to call him out to go toe to toe at the relays.
Around the grounds results kicks off with some results locally including canberra, newcastle (featuring coach Madeline Heiner debuting over the marathon), and Sarah Jayamaha has the boys awe after covering over 180ks in 24hrs in the track. We hear about the 4 athletes from run2pb that raced at Boston, with some P.Bs and amazing results.
Steve chats about race week nerves and some practical strategies for calming yourself down as you get ready for that race, and also answers a question around going to the well in sessions and the impact that can have on you.
