I’m married to Terry he is so lovely and supportive, we met late in life, we have a golden doodle dog he is a cutie, and we live in the United Kingdom.
I was a very skinny child eating whatever I like especially sugary stuff and this addiction continued into my adult life.
When I reached my 30s my weight started to become an issue, I remember walking into my first weight watchers' group, I spent the next 25 years in and out of slimming clubs. I’ve spent a small fortune trying to control my weight without any success! I’d lose the weight but before I knew it, it was back again and a lot more.
I’ve always loved exercising, especially walking and using weights.
2016 I came across Jason Fung and I was fascinated by IF loved the science behind it and read the Obesity Code.
I then found Gin Stephens DDD and started fasting, I was really enjoying this way of eating and thought that in my window I could eat whatever I wanted but realised that I couldn’t, so I spent quite a long time trying different fasting protocols, also I wasn’t clean fasting so really didn’t have much success.
Through Gins books I came across Graeme Currie who wrote The Fasting Highway, reading his story really resonated with me, I think I nodded through most of his inspiring story, I got excited and thought if this man can get through all of his struggles, lose 132lbs in 14 months then I was certain that I could finally get a grip on my weight once and for all and lose my excess weight.
As soon as I started clean fasting, I felt different, previously I’d stuck to 16.8 or 18.6 so I upped it to 23.1 and my weight started to come off, my NSVs were fantastic!. I gave up sugar in 2020 and have not looked back.
