Bridgette and Colleen describe their own personal perimenopausal and menopausal journeys.
Colleen is in perimenopause and explains her symptoms including brain fog, weight gain, insomnia, anxiety, hot flashes and night sweats. It started around age 47 and continues today. She is just starting to enter into a more transitional phase of menopause and has a great deal of anxiety imaging the next part of the process. Colleen finds that exercise helps relieve some of the stress and sleep is an absolute necessity.
Bridgette is post menopausal and currently on HRTs. She was suffering from debilitating hot flashes & night sweats until she went on hormonal replenishments. Now on a cocktail of bioidentical hormones, her menopausal symptoms have improved greatly. She also suffered from weight gain, insomnia, brain fog and night sweats. Her enjoyment of tennis, yoga and Pure Barre also help with her mental focus.
Hot Flashes & Cool Topics will be diving into the topic of menopause by interviewing doctors, nutritionists, psychologists and many more with expertise in perimenopause and menopause. We want to continue the dialogue and information for our listeners so that it is no longer a taboo subject.
