Episode 287: Is Your Weight Loss Stuck At A Plateau?
I’m wondering if you’ve been at a plateau with your weight? is your weight stuck at a place that you don’t consider your end goal? Are you paused and wanting to get moving again? Well, get ready for our coaching session today on how to deal with a weight loss plateau.
Let’s start our discussion with asking: What is a plateau? – It happens when you are trying to do something new, like stopping overeating.
You’ve made progress up to this point.
And then suddenly, you stop making progress, and there is no more forward movement.
In case of weight loss, you might be so discouraged by being at a plateau that you might even start moving backwards and erase any progress you’ve made so far.
It can be very frustrating and demoralizing.
And it can challenge your belief in yourself, your belief that you can do this.
That you can become a natural eater.
But let’s talk about this today.
I don’t want you to use a plateau in your progress as an excuse to give up and go back to all your old overeating habits.
Plateaus are very common and what I don’t want to do with you is teach you that the way out of a plateau is to jump start your weight loss…by focusing only on what you eat.
Yes, I know that might be what you think you need and want.
But what you really need is to figure out what happened and learn from it.
Because that’s what we do around here.
We figure out why we do what we do so we can make intelligent changes that last, right?
I want you to consider viewing your plateau as a pause, a pause telling you that it’s time for you to re-access where you are, why you are there, and what your next steps should be to get yourself moving forward again.
