My name is Shagen and as far as I can remember, I have always been overweight. My BMI normally borders on obese. Over the years, I have tried very hard to lose weight but to little effect. I do cardio at the gym 7 days a week but it didn’t help. I have tried all types of diets, again to no effect. When I was in my 30s, I over 110kg. I am in my 50s now and I need to bring my weight down before I get health complications. A friend of mine suggested that I do IF. I tried it once last year but not eating breakfast did not appeal to me and I gave up. But late last year, when I did a health check my doctor told me that if I didn’t bring my weight down, I am likely to have other health issues. That was a wake up call. So, I tried it again in November last year. I started 16:8 initially for almost 2 months and felt my clothes becoming loose. I then increased my fasting by an hour gradually to 20:4 now. I feel better, have more energy and find that I am now more alert. My goal is to reduce my weight to 70kg so that my BMI shows that I am in the healthy weight range.
