In our recent training seminars, we have been asked more and more about worker classification.   This seemed like the perfect opportunity to bring in our Human Resource expert, the one we affectionately call the DA of HR, Daneen Ashworth.

Daneen Ashworth began to work in the Human Resources field when she saw a huge void in the support for the medium to small business owner. Utilizing her background in Psychology and Special Education, Daneen found that Human Resources has many similar skill sets, such as advocating during emotionally charged meetings, addressing non-compliance, developing organizational systems and individualizing services based on needs. Immediately, Daneen began to research and study, receiving her aPHR and working on her PHRca. She is the Founder of Compass HR and received the Entrepreneur of the Year Award from the Murrieta/Wildomar Chamber of Commerce for 2017. She was nominated for Business of the Year by the Murrieta/Wildomar Chamber of Commerce in 2018 and 2019 and Citizen of the Year for Murrieta in 2019.

Currently, she is serving as Secretary on the SCWC SHRM Board, is SHRM CERTIFIED,  She makes it a point to keep current on all new legislation, attending Legislative updates, Southwest Legislative Council meetings, and keeps in contact with local government officials (city council, state senate, state assembly, mayor, city officials).

In the past, she has served on the leadership team for her local MOPS group, on the Board of Directors for Women’s Ministry for Revival Christian Fellowship and was active in Women’s Ministry at Centerpoint Church.
