When we win a medal or lose a loved one, we can think of it as an event - whether it is positive and desirable, or negative and undesirable. It is an event; a something that "happened to us" that leaves us delighted or depleted (in a "state"); whether it is grief or euphoria. In truth, in our living experience, it might be more like a process than an event. If we engage with it that way, could it be easier to handle if we approach it differently? I talk about this today, initially from a context of treating a client - however it seems to apply to a lot more. Our soft tissue systems, once we understand how they process things, encourage us to perhaps think about them differently and give us permission to take our time. See what you think...
