Failure is Not NOT an Option: Alternative Parenting Paths with Patrick Hinds

Listen Later

Today Dr. Dan interviews podcaster and parent Patrick Hinds (the co-creator/co-host of True Crime Obsessed) about his book Failure Is Not NOT an Option: How the Chubby Gay Son of a Jesus-Obsesses Lesbian Found Love, Family, and Podcast Success…and a Bunch of Other Stuff

Patrick shares the story of his path to parenting and how when he and husband Steve decided to become parents they were daunted by the prohibitive cost of surrogacy and traditional adoption until they came across foster to adopt. (Most couples including same-sex couples do not know foster to adopt even exists.)

Dr. Dan and Patrick have a lively conversation listeners will love. As Martha Plimpton, Emmy Award–winning actress and activist, says, “Patrick’s story is just like the man himself: hilarious, loving, generous, exhausting, brilliant, endlessly entertaining, and ridiculously fun. He is living proof that every so-called failure is another chance to master something even more important: life.”
