I am imperfect. You are imperfect. We will never be perfect. While calling someone or something imperfect is often seen as an insult, in this episode I explore how embracing this fundamental truth can be deeply freeing. If I am not perfect, and nothing I ever create will be perfect, how can I allow myself to exhale? To release myself from the bonds of perfectionism and to embrace being?
Embracing our imperfection is scary work. We often feel that we have to be perfect to receive love, to receive care, to be supported and have our needs met. What if we could experience all of these wonderful things without the prerequisite of perfection? What if love, and deep support, and care and fulfillment are our birthright? In this episode, I face some of the fears that come up for me as I embrace my imperfection and "do the thing anyway". I look at where these fears come from, and how I can lovingly and compassionately meet them without bending to their will. I say "f*ck perfection!" and "embrace being, imperfectly". I reach through time and space to tell you that I love you, BECAUSE of your imperfections, as we sit in radical acceptance together.
