Jules Breach, Jim Campbell and Andy Brassell are here to finally look back over some Premier League action! 100 days without it and we immediately get controversy over technology and Arsenal imploding. The more things change the more they stay the same.
In Manchester the follically barren charlatan Pep Guardiola got one over on former assistant Mikel Arteta after a trademark David Luiz implosion, while at Villa Park Sheffield United can count themselves incredibly unlucky after goal line technology was revealed to have a blind spot, something that hasn’t been uncovered in over 9,000 games thus far.
We also had time to look at the imperious dominance of the Bayern Munich machine, more cardboard cutout fun and a certain somebody’s gluttonous birthday plans.

The Premier League is back – and so is The Football Ramble!
To celebrate the return of England’s top flight, we’ll be releasing Football Ramble episodes daily, featuring a revolving selection of hosts from each of our usual shows. Today, Kate Mason is joined by Luke Moore and Pete Donaldson to look ahead to tonight’s Premier League fixtures. Who will adapt best to the bizarre conditions? Why do people rate Aston Villa? What song would we walk onto as a sub?
There’s also plenty of time to discuss what’s still to play for this season, celebrate the brilliant Marcus Rashford and reminisce about Michail Antonio’s largely uneventful Christmas Day last year…

On the third and final episode of the series, we turn our attention to the financial necessity behind the Premier League's return and explore how coronavirus will reshape the future of English football.
Join Melissa Reddy as she also dissects the neutral venues debate with the help of former police superintendent, Owen West. He labeled it a missed opportunity to engage with fans and build greater trust. Dr Rob Wilson breaks down the impact on the transfer window, and along with ESPN's Mark Ogden, talks through the Premier League's continued hand-to-mouth existence. They consider what mechanisms can be put in place to safeguard English football against another stoppage like this in the future.
Thanks for listening to The Return of the Premier League, hosted by Melissa Reddy. Join us tomorrow for a brand new schedule to celebrate the Premier League's return!

We're back with the second episode of our three-part series, The Return of the Premier League, hosted by Melissa Reddy!
With football trying to implement the early stages of Project Restart, the priority was ensuring the safest working environment possible for a return to training. We hear from the likes of ESPN's Mark Ogden and STATSport's Sean O'Connor about football's unprecedented new normal, while Bournemouth defender Chris Mepham describes what getting a Coronavirus test actually feels like!
Episode 3: 'Money and neutral venue madness' will be available tomorrow! All music courtesy of Epidemic Sound.

A few days ahead of the game’s 24th anniversary, comedian Mark Watson joins us to remember one of England’s most iconic victories on today’s episode of the Greatest Games, in association with The Blizzard.
As Jonathan frantically scrambled from a university exam to catch the game, Terry Venables’ England side prepared for a crucial game in Group A of Euro 96. After the infamous night out in Hong Kong ahead of the tournament, then the disappointing 1-1 draw with Switzerland in the opening game, a win was crucial for the hosts. Mark, Jonathan and Marcus revel in their heady memories of a glorious summer of football – perhaps best encapsulated by Paul Gascoigne’s moment of genius as he nonchalantly flicks the ball over Colin Hendry’s head and smashes it home. Magical stuff.

It’s not just the Premier League that’s returning next week but also the Premier League narrative. Mikel Arteta is preparing to return to The Etihad to face old boss Pep Guardiola and we are all EXCITED. West Ham are getting ready too, with a massive mosaic. To whom will this mammoth task fall? Is it not vulnerable to mischief making? So many questions need answering.
Leagues One and Two have voted to end their season so we have lots to say about that, while also taking in a surprise visit from Shaquille O’Neal and having a lovely chat about Sir Les Ferdinand flirting with Juventus on football’s new dating app.
We also have an open top plane update from a listener and Uncle Pete tells us about his camera roll, memories of a particular sideboard and the Dōtonbori river’s sinister Curse of the Colonel.

In all honestly, the dream line-up for this week’s episode of Fantasy Five-a-Side might be the hardest, most unforgiving bunch of tyrants you could ever assemble.
Nick Bright, DJ on BBC 1Xtra and 5 Live, joins Jim Campbell to talk him through a five-a-side squad that would strike fear into any opposition at your local Powerleague. It features an otherwise stoic goalkeeper - who became a rampant madman on the pitch - a couple of beautifully graceful thugs from the continent and, thankfully, an affable Arsenal legend up top.
