Ep #134 - You know how you get a feeling inside of yourself when what you say you are doing doesn't align with what you are actually doing? You know how you feel when you look in the mirror and the person looking back at you does not look like the person you think you are in your mind. The main problem is we have this "ideal" self and then we have our actual self - the person living in the external reality created by our internal world.

We both know this can be fixed. We know this because we have experienced it before, hell, we are experiencing it right now in our Sobriety and Recovery journeys. Imagine that there is a simple process you can learn in order to pull yourself out of the incongruence you feel and into the harmoniousness that comes from having your beliefs and your actions align. Well, it's time to take this from your imagination and into your reality!

Ep #133 - Developing your growth mindset is essential for your development from sobriety to recovery. As you focus in on what you desire from yourself during this transition it is important to realize that alcohol and drugs are not the only things you can find yourself addicted to.

Poor communication, ignoring those around you in favor of your phone, not being present in your own life, and of course the usual suspects of sex, gambling, sugar, and the like all have the grips on civilization.

Ep 132 - September is "National Recovery Month" and with it comes the energy that recovery is belongs to ALL of us and that recovery, at its core, is about community and that inclusivity is a positive energy source rather than exclusivity.

Ep 131 - You are a completely different person in everyone's mind. Your parents, family, partner, neighbor, co-workers, classmates, and so-on...everyone one of these people has a different version of you, in their head, than every other person whom has ever met you. This is not an accident. No two people can possibly experience you the same. Hell, you don't even experience yourself the way you used to experience yourself - especially when compared to yourself in active addiction vs sobriety and recovery.

This is so important to understand because this clears you to be yourself toward everyone you meet. You get to decide what people know about you. You can decide how much of your past you share and how deep you desire them to know about your future dreams.

You have no control over how they interpret your thoughts, feelings, actions, and behaviors. You have the freedom to be you (of course, being grateful, humble, and full of integrity - while NOT acting entitled) and to no longer mute yourself. 

If you get confused as to how people don't see you for you - well then you are in the right place, at the right time...right now.

Ep 130 - Self-sabotage can be the go to excuse for the unmotivated to change. You have experience with self-sabotage in your own life. Once you journey your undesirable behaviors and habits from your unconscious mind into your conscious awareness you are no longer allowing yourself to use that "lazy" excuse as your way out of actionable change.

"I'm just immature," "I just always do it this way," "No one taught me better," - these are a couple excuses I hear from my clients and empowerment calls that signal to me that someone is using a crutch to justify why they are hobbling forward in their addiction recovery journey.

Once you know better it is your duty to do better. Excuses are reasons that can be avoided.

Don't hit play on this one if you want to keep living in your own filth. Don't hit play if you want to stay in your comfort zone in Excuse-ville.

Ep 129 - Limiting beliefs, limiting decisions - your limiting stories are what you say to yourself and to others that corral your limitlessness and place you in your boundary box where you limit yourself and what you can achieve in your recovery and life.

That can sound like a lot to take in, a lot to envision, and even more to feel. From my perspective, life is not all that complicated when you break it down to it simplest layers. You can breakout of your limiting stories, you can achieve what you prioritize, you can choose to unplug from the white noise and distractions and seek from yourself that which is seeking you.

Ep 128 - Everyday in life we make choices. These choices, when seen from the our future perspective, accumulate into the life we create for ourselves. Our willingness to not push beyond our perceived strength, to stretch ourselves beyond what we think we are capable of - these actions earn us our results. These repeated behaviors become your habits and your habits are the foundation for your identity.

Is there a fire inside you to earn more money, have a more fulfilling career, healthier more communicative relationship, a deeply grounded and stable recovery system, a brighter view of yourself smiling back at you in the mirror?

Each day you choose to keep going about your life business as usual is another day that you are intentionally allowing your present self to sacrifice your tomorrow.

Ep 127 - A bonus episode for the week as my mind is just jumping all around and I have to get this out. When did life become a slog? Why on earth do people dampen the spark and flame others have for doing the little things that bring them joy?

There is so much to say about this episode but then that would make this description as long as the episode - so JUST HIT PLAY and let's dive into why Adulting 101 is being childlike, enjoying the little things, and celebrating the small stuff. Ep 126 - Getting triggered into an emotional state is something that happens hundreds and thousands of times per day. Some of these triggering circumstances are just moments in time that pass as easily as they came into your awareness. Others circumstances - well these are the ones that can forever alter your life. These are the ones that we seek to manage and work on in ourselves when they are small events so we are prepared and experienced when the larger, more monumental events occur that can send our lives down a path that is dark and gloomy.
