In this episode of the podcast, I'm joined by Tim Meuchel. We hit on a bunch of topics, ranging from what it means to show up for your family during adversity and how your kids see you during these times; to lessons in parenting leadership, and understanding when it makes the most sense to take a step back and not be in control all of the time.
KEY TAKEAWAYS:Tim Meuchel is the creator, best selling author, and podcast host of The 10 Factor.
He's a graduate engineer from Virginia Tech, and spent 12 years in the private sector managing large commercial construction projects from coast-to-coast for a 100-year old company. Tim's plan from day 1 was to retire with that company until a series of events several years later led him to start considering other options.
Tim kept his job but started discussing an exit strategy with his wife and circle of influence. These discussions continued for several more years until eventually he secured a contractor's license and started a side business in 2007.

1. Recognizing the threat - The brain learns most rapidly under life threat so if your survival is threatened the brain starts developing new pathways to figure out how to respond and adapt.
2. Love & Safety - When we feel safe and secure we take risks and our mind is more open and we get less rigid. It takes the combo of a life threatening situation with love and safety
When someone is facing a challenge they get tunnel vision and freak out and resilient goes out the window but if you can provide safety through love they stay soft and open and build that capacity.
