I'm an open-minded person.

BUT, if you want to convince me there is any faster route to getting a job interview, and ultimately an offer, other than boss hunting, you better come armed.

It makes no difference whether you're a recent college graduate like Venkata (the hero in today's lesson) or a seasoned pro.

Top to bottom and every which way in between, targeting bosses is your best route to surfacing interviews.

If you're wondering why, just think about it.

Who is more in pain that you're not on their team?

The recruiter? I think not.

The Applicant Trashing System? I'll wait for the deafening silence. Oh. There it is.

Bosses are ALWAYS looking for great talent, whether they have budgeted openings or whether they'd trade out someone on their team for you.
